2024-2025 Scholarship Information 

📌 Wilson-Rocky Mount-Tarboro (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated $1,000 HBCU Scholarship 

The Wilson-Rocky Mount-Tarboro (NC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is excited to announce its 8th annual $1,000 HBCU Scholarship, awarded to a deserving high school senior who plans to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the fall after graduation.

This scholarship reflects our chapter's commitment to supporting academic excellence and access to higher education. Over the past seven years, we have had the privilege of contributing to the success of remarkable students, and we look forward to continuing this tradition.

📌 Iota Chapter of North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarships

Scholarship Opportunity from Iota Chapter of North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa. Every state organization awards four (4) scholarships of $2000.00 each to qualifying seniors on track to graduate and planning to attend a 4-Year college or university. The scholarships are open NOW and will close on March 1, 2025 at 11:59PM.

The Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship is open to any young woman who is currently graduating from an accredited public high school in North Carolina and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university in North Carolina next fall. Specific eligibility requirements are: Academic rank in top 10% of class, Minimum SAT score of 1220 or ACT composite score of 25, good character and participation in extracurricular activities (school and community). Financial need is not the primary consideration.This application is due March 1st.

The Mary Rose Mills-Linda Rankin Memorial Scholarship is open to any student who is currently graduating from an accredited public high school in North Carolina and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university next fall. Specific eligibility requirements are: Academic rank in top 10% of class, Minimum SAT score of 1290 or ACT composite score of 27, good character and participation in extracurricular activities (school and community). Financial need is not the primary consideration.This application is due March 1st.

The Clare Johnson Marley-Mary Earle Berger Fine Arts Scholarship is open to any student who is currently graduating from an accredited public high school in North Carolina and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university next fall, and who is declaring as his/her major in an area of the fine arts. Specific eligibility requirements are: Academic rank in top 20% of class, Minimum SAT score of 1220 or ACT composite score of 25, good character and participation in extracurricular activities (school and community). Financial need is not the primary consideration. (Samples of talent are required to be submitted with the application.) This application is due March 1st.

The North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship is available through the North Carolina Community Foundation. This scholarship is $2000 and is open to a male or female, on track to graduate and planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university.  Specific eligibility requirements are:  SAT score of 990 to 1130 or ACT composite score of 20 to 24; unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5; good character, integrity, leadership potential and service to school, community and church.Students wishing to apply should check the NCCF website and watch for the updated application, usually in January. Then follow the NCCF guidelines to apply only through their online application portal. No printed or emailed applications will be accepted.

📌 Greenville Pitt Education Association, Inc. Scholarship. 

 This scholarship is presented annually to a graduating senior at each of the six Pitt County High Schools in the amount of $500.00.

📌 Margaret Hilpert Scholarship

Margaret Hilpert Scholarship information to the High Schools in Pitt County. 
 

The Quilt Trails of the Tar & Roanoke Rivers is a 501c3 nonprofit, looking to award a North Carolina high school senior the Margaret Hilpert Scholarship ($1,000).  To be considered for the scholarship, the high school senior must be in one of the counties hosting a Quilt Trails of the Tar & Roanoke Rivers quilt block (Franklin, Granville, Martin, Nash, Pitt, Granville or Wake Counties), have at least a 3.0 GPA, and be pursuing undergraduate studies after graduation at a university or community college. The senior must provide their high school’s name and teacher’s or counselor's information for verification. To apply, submit a 500-word essay on The Importance of Local Community History. Complete information is available at www.quilttrailsenc.org Margaret Hilpert Scholarship and in the attached pdf file.

 Quilt Trails of the Tar & Roanoke Rivers bring the tradition of displaying painted quilt blocks on buildings to Piedmont and Eastern North Carolina counties bordering the Tar & Roanoke Rivers capturing the history of our communities. Enjoyable not only for quilting enthusiasts, the Quilt Trails aspire to educate and provide the history of the region.  Each block features a quilt pattern inspired by its location. The 'Quilt Block Story' is captured in the Tar & Roanoke Rivers Quilt Trail Guide.  Our Mission is to preserve the history of our communities and to promote tourism and economic growth in our region.

📌 SECU People Helping People Scholarship

 The SECU People Helping People Scholarship opens December 16. Please apply if you meet the eligibility criteria. 

 
Eligibility Requirements:
  • SECU member or eligible for membership through a parent or guardian
  • North Carolina resident and eligible for in-state tuition
  • Accepted to one of the 16 UNC system universities as a full-time undergraduate
  • 2.5 or higher unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Exhibited leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement
  • Filed FAFSA 
Due Date: please submit ALL items to Ms. Putney by March 3, 2025.  
 
 

📌 Parker Jernigan Scholarship Application 

Clay and Marcie Parker fund this scholarship in their parents’ honor and memory for $30,000 to help cover tuition expenses.

Recipients must meet the following criteria:

  • Weighted GPA of no less than a 3.0

  • Two letters of recommendation from either a teacher, guidance counselor, principal, pastor or employer on letterhead.  (1 must be from a school educator)

  • Resume laying out employment, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.

  • Demonstrated interest in a Health Science or Business Career path in a North Carolina school of higher education. 

  • Applicant must demonstrate high moral character (no criminal history)

  • Please list academic and career goals

  • Please attach the official school transcript of grades.  ACT or SAT score preferred.

  • Interview required for the finalists.

evaluation process.

📌 Johnson & Wales Scholarships

We are excited to launch the 2025 Future Food Scholarship, with two categories: sweet and savory.

The top two scholarship winners will receive full tuition for four years and also earn a RATIONAL i-Combi Pro oven for their high school. Students placing 2nd-4th in both categories will receive $5,000 scholarships, renewable for four years.

BestColleges is excited to announce our newest scholarship opportunity - The 2nd annual BestColleges Scholarship for Black Women in STEM. As you may know, Black women remain underrepresented in STEM fields, despite the growing demand for talent in these industries.
